Photography is my way of experiencing the world around me.  To me, the secret to a good picture is to depict the normal or mundane as something extraordinary or unusual.  When I have a camera, I try to seek out details in the environment, the little things that may seem like background clutter to someone not paying attention to his or her surroundings.  In nature, those details are most overlooked in the complexity of that environment, and the challenge of finding and experiencing them is what I find most rewarding about my work.

I first took up photography when I was in college, but it became a serious pursuit only in recent years.  Besides nature, I enjoy shooting events and urban scenes.
